Spring Launches To Note

One of the beautiful reasons to shop from small brands is that they don’t stick to the “rules” of new launches - churning out new collections each new fashion season. Whilst the founders do work hard to bring new pieces or colourways to reward their loyal customers, many times the styles are repeated because they are timeless.

One of the beautiful reasons to shop from small brands is that they don’t stick to the “rules” of new launches - churning out new collections each new fashion season. Whilst the founders do work hard to bring new pieces or colourways to reward their loyal customers, many times the styles are repeated because they are timeless. Having said that, I do enjoy it when a whole batch of new drops arrive across my Instgram to tickle my senses…my bank, less so! As the days warm up, I’m looking to add a little more colour and joy to my daily dresses and I’ve selected some fantastic brands and their new arrivals to share with you.

So here are my picks of new dresses to see you into Spring and Summer (year after year after year).

1. SMOCK London, the Josephine Butler dress in Seaside Check with Cherries

2. HOLLYBLOCKS, the Peach Poplin Hollyhock dress

3. DAUGHTERS OF INDIA, the Sita Maxi dress in Daffodil

4. JOHANNA SANDS, the Gingham Ana dress

5. LEXY LONDON, the Audrey dress in Red Catherine Wheel

I’m kicking it off with an absolute beauty of a dress, from the very feminine and very elegant Johanna Sands.

Johanna’s dresses are all handmade by her, in gorgeous fabrics that drape the variations of the female body perfectly. The dresses range from a size 6-16, and do fit true to size. I’ve paired mine with some velvet mary-janes here, but sandals - flat or heeled depending on the occasion, would also work well.

This dress would be lovely for the Easter weekend as its a loose cut so it’ll be easy enough to get your lamb and spring veg in and out of the oven, or to throw your arms around visiting family members! The sky blue linen feels particularly festive and spring-like to me, and I keep imagining how put together I’ll look as I race to find one of the Easter Bunny’s eggs before my children scoff them all!

Johanna Sands is taking a short, and well deserved, break, but will be back to business as usual shortly. In the meantime, browse her Shop page as, I promise, you won’t be short on choices.
